Sonia Si Ahmed

Sonia (1973) (D/DZ) has studied dance at the Fontys Dance Academy in Tilburg, where she graduated in 1999. After that she studied three months at the Cunningham Studio, NYC. She has been living in Brussels since 2000.
Since then she has been working as a dancer in several projects with choreographers such as: Sonja Augart, Alexander Baervoets, Liesbeth Koot, Vloeistof and others.
Since 2002 she has been creating her own work such as the solo Zug (2004), a solo in a train station and « Tempo » (2002) a choreography for three dancers based on speed and rhythm.
Within « Rubber Duck vzw », the organization she has co-founded in 2006 she has created together with Kasia Rausz« I saw you at the annual diving contest... » (2006)- 4 different solos within the same frame setting, and « Marshmallow » in 2007, a reflection on vulnerability. She is now working on a research project on « Power » with Maya Dalinsky.
